Nominate Brooklyn Students for Brooklyn Borough President Reynoso’s 2026 Graduation Awards
Borough President Reynoso is proud to announce that nominations are now open for his 2026 Pre-K-12 Graduation Awards!
This year’s awards will follow the previous year’s categories, ensuring we’re awarding students for both academic achievement and other qualities we aim to foster in our communities.
School administrators may nominate students for the following three categories:
- The Merit Award is given to a student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement across subjects.
- The Perseverance Award is given to a student who has overcome challenges to improve in their academics and/or achieve graduation.
- The Brooklyn for All Award is given to a student who has demonstrated a spirit of generosity among their peers and/or within their Brooklyn community.
Timeline
- Nominations Open: Monday, April 6
- Nominations Close: Monday, June 1 at 5:00pm
- Awards Ready for Pick-Up: Week of June 8
Nomination Guidance
- The same student cannot be nominated for more than one award.
- Only one student can be nominated per award category.
- It is not mandatory to nominate for each category.
- The Brooklyn Borough President will honor those students recommended by their school based on the descriptions set forth above. Schools should take care to ensure that students not only meet the requirements for each Brooklyn Borough President award, but that each nominee exemplifies good moral character as well.
- Nominations will be open until Thursday, May 29, 2026, at 5:00 PM, no exceptions.
- Awards will be available to be picked up during the week of June 8, 2026.
- More information on exact pick-up dates will be sent after May 29, only to schools who have submitted names for nomination. Awards can NOT be mailed.
- Please note that once nominations are submitted, they can NOT be changed or corrected. Ensure that names are spelled correctly before submitting. They will appear on awards exactly as they are submitted.
Pick-Up Instructions
For Private Schools, Charter Schools, District 75, New Visions, Transfer Schools, and Urban Assembly public schools, your awards will be ready for pick-up at Brooklyn Borough Hall the week of June 8.
For all other Public schools, your awards will be ready for pick-up at your Superintendent’s Office the week of June 8.
