The night kicked off with the incredible Brooklyn United Marching Band. We had Lakecia Benjamin grooving with her Soul Squad, beats from Ralph McDaniels’ Video Music Box that got everyone dancing, and Leela James bringing her star-power to the people. Wingate 2023 closed out with an iconic reggae performance by Brooklyn’s 3x Grammy-winning band Morgan Heritage who captured my thoughts exactly when they said, ‘Brooklyn, you’re beautiful!’”
